Did Pakistan Blame China-Turkey For Missiles, Drones Failures Against India? Fact Checking The Claim
Amid the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan, top Indian military commanders have confirmed that Pakistan deployed weapon systems of Chinese and Turkish origin. However, they also noted that all attempted strikes were successfully intercepted by India's robust, multi-layered air defence system - a combination of advanced and legacy platforms.
The conflict, which has seen India launch retaliatory operations under Operation Sindoor, marks the first real-world combat test for China's ambitious, multi-billion-dollar military exports. Pakistan reportedly used Chinese fighter jets in a significant air engagement during the hostilities.

In the wake of these events, unverified claims have circulated online alleging that Pakistan blamed China and Turkey for the underperformance of their weapons and drones against Indian defences.
A fact-check reveals no official statements or credible reports supporting this claim. A search across major news platforms and government sources yielded no evidence. These rumours appear to stem from unauthenticated social media posts and are, therefore, baseless.

Meanwhile, China has categorically denied speculation that it dispatched military supplies to Pakistan during the standoff. On Monday, the People's Liberation Army Air Force rejected claims that its Y-20 transport aircraft carried arms to Pakistan, calling the reports "rumours." In a strongly worded statement posted on China's defence ministry website, it warned: "The internet is not beyond the law! Those who produce and spread military-related rumours will be held legally responsible!"
China also dismissed reports that its fighter jets were involved in the attacks on India. A spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry reiterated Beijing's neutral stance, saying: "China opposes all forms of terrorism. We urge both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, remain calm, exercise restraint, and avoid actions that could escalate tensions."
China remains Pakistan's principal arms supplier. According to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), 81% of Pakistan's total arms imports between 2020 and 2024 came from China. In contrast, India sources its weaponry primarily from France and Russia, which account for 33% and 36% of imports respectively in the same period. US-origin weapons form the third-largest share at 9.6%, with India rarely importing Chinese military hardware.
