Yash, Sai Pallavi's Upcoming Film Toxic Sparks Controversy, Makers Slapped With Notices; Read Details Here
Yash, known for his role in KGF, is currently working on a new film titled 'Toxic'. However, the project has already sparked controversy. Allegations have surfaced that hundreds of trees were felled to create the film's set. This has led to a conflict between the Karnataka Forest Department and Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT), as filming continues.
The issue revolves around 599 acres of forest land now under HMT's control. Ishwar Khandre, Minister of Forest, Ecology, and Environment, expressed concerns in a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary. He highlighted that this land was transferred to HMT without proper gazette notification. A dispute over land ownership persists between central and state authorities.

Environmental Concerns Over 'Toxic' Film Set
Khandre accused HMT of leasing the land for commercial activities, including the production of 'Toxic'. He claimed significant deforestation occurred for the film, breaching legal limits. The minister suggested using satellite imagery to verify these claims. If trees were indeed cut without approval, it would constitute a breach of forest regulations.
A motion poster for 'Toxic' was unveiled last December. It featured Yash with a cowboy hat, cigarette, and gun but obscured his face. This might have been intentional to keep his look under wraps until the film's release next year. Reports suggest Nayanthara replaced Kareena Kapoor Khan in the cast, and Shah Rukh Khan will make a cameo appearance.
The ongoing controversy surrounding 'Toxic' highlights environmental concerns linked to film production. As debates continue over forest land use and deforestation limits, stakeholders await further developments in this high-profile case.
