Yash Is Now Co-Producer Of Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayana'

'KGF' star Yash has joined Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming movie 'Ramayana' as a co-producer. In addition to it, the Kannada actor will be playing the role of demon king Ravana.

As per a report in Zoom, the actor was unwilling to take up the offer of Ravana and finally agreed for the role as a producer. It also notes that the KGF star was offered Rs 80 crore to act in the movie.

Yash Is Now Co-Producer Of Ramayana

A source told Zoom: "Yash desisted the offer to play Ravana for a long time. He agreed finally only as a producer. Rather than accept a fee (of around 80 crores) he agreed to come on board as a producer."

On the other hand, some reports had claimed that Ranbir Kapoor was being paid Rs 75 crore to act in the film. Responding to the rumours, a source informed Bollywood Hungama: "Ranbir is being paid what he deserves. The amount quoted is not correct,"

Days ago, the shooting of the movie had commenced and a few pictures from the sets had leaked. As a result, director Nitesh Tiwari implemented no-phone policy on the set.

As far the the movie is concerned, it will be made in three parts. A source told Mid-Day: "As we all know, Ramayana is going to be a three-part film. What many are not aware of is how the makers have divided the story for each part. The first part will introduce Lord Rama, his family at Ayodhya, his marriage with Sita and their 14-year vanvas. The first part is expected to end with the kidnapping of Sita by Ravana. The makers don't want to rush the story and want to narrate the epic in an entertaining, sensitive and cinematic manner."

Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will play the roles of Rama and Sita in the movie.

In the upcoming flick, Sunny Deol will be doing the role of Lord Hanuman. His younger brother Bobby Deol has been approached to play the role of Kumbakaran.

Rumours suggest Vijay Sethupathi may portray Vibhishan, Raavana's youngest brother. Lara Dutta will portray Lord Ram's stepmother, Kaikeyi, and Sheeba Chaddha will depict Manthara.

The first part of the movie is expected to release around Diwali 2025.
