Why Shah Rukh Khan Is Leaving Mannat? King Khan Relocating With Gauri & Children; Know Why

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat is set for a major makeover, prompting the Khan family to temporarily relocate.

The extensive renovation work will begin in May at the sprawling residence, which is expected to take around two years to complete. During this time, fans of the actor, who often greets them from his terrace, will miss seeing their favourite star at his usual spot.

Extensive Renovation Work

According to sources cited by Hindustan Times, the renovation plans include adding two new floors to the Mannat annexe. Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh's wife, had reportedly sought approval for the expansion from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) in November last year. While the upgraded residence promises to be even more luxurious, the family will be moving to a temporary home in the upscale Pali Hill neighborhood during the construction period.

The Khans are said to have leased four floors in a high-end apartment building, Puja Casa, developed by renowned producer Vashu Bhagnani. The deal, reportedly finalized by Shah Rukh's production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, involves a monthly rent of ₹24 lakh. The spacious accommodation is expected to comfortably house the family, along with their extensive security and staff.

Official Confirmation Awaited

However, neither the Khan family nor the Bhagnanis have officially confirmed the move.

Earlier reports revealed that Shah Rukh Khan has secured two swanky duplexes in Pali Hill for a three-year lease, shelling out a staggering ₹8.67 crore. The duplexes, located on the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors of Puja Casa, were leased from Vashu Bhagnani and his children, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh.

The first duplex costs ₹11.54 lakh per month with a ₹32.97 lakh security deposit, while the second is leased for ₹12.61 lakh monthly, plus a ₹36 lakh deposit. The agreements were officially registered on February 14, 2025, with stamp duty and registration fees totaling ₹2.22 lakh and ₹2,000, respectively, Zapkey.com noted.
