Who Is Amina Nijam, Kerala Actor Who Is "Ashamed" Of India For Attacking Terror Bases In Pakistan
Kerala actress Amina Nijam has triggered a controversy by claiming that she is "ashamed" of a country that seeks a solution to the April 22 terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were killed.
In a post on her social media account, Amina Nijam claimed that the Pahalgam attack has been "manipulated" and the war does not bring peace.

She wrote, "Yes, I'm ashamed our country sought out killing as the solution when so many questions are still unanswered and the economic situation of the country is at its worst. Remember war doesn't bring peace nor does killing. I don't support it. People who think they have sought revenge for the Pahalgam attack have been manipulated. It's a war we are getting into and the loss is only for the civilians.I'm an Indian who thinks for the welfare of its people, not the one that speaks only when the ego is hurt."
It comes after India carried out attack on nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan.
However, her comments were met with severe criticism. She then retracted her comments and apologised for the remarks. "There was a story that I had posted which belonged to a lawyer that said about killing of pak civlians but as soon as I came to know the official clarification of now civlians had been involved in the attack I took down the story. I apologize for the same," she said in another post.

As people questioned how she did not react to the Pahalgam attack, Amina claimed that she had condemned the incident.
