As Vijay is hitting headlines over his political activities, here comes an update about the name of his character in Jana Nayagan. While the makers are yet to announce the name, rumours are doing the rounds that the name has already been locked in.

The Name Of Vijay's Character

If the latest reports are to be believed, the name of Vijay's character in Jana Nayagan is "Thalapathy Vettri Kondan". Interestingly, the actor will be seen sporting a tattoo on his hand with the letters - TVK. It is the short form of his political outfit Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which was founded in February 2024.

The upcoming movie, which will be released on January 9, 2026, is a special movie for fans as it is Vijay's last film before he hung his boots to pursue his political career. The actor has slowly shifted his focus on politics with the aim of defeating the ruling DMK.

Produced by Karnataka-based KVN Productions, it is the first collaboration of Vijay with director H Vinoth. The movie has Pooja Hegde playing the female lead. Bobby Deol, Gautham Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Shruti Haasan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and others are in the cast.

It is the remake of Telugu movie Bhagavanth Kesari. Balakrishna played the title role with Sreeleela, Arjun Rampal, Sarath Kumar, Ravi Shankar and others in the cast. The movie had turned out to be a hit at the box office.

Vijay Lands In Controversy

Meanwhile, Vijay has landed in a new controversy after a security officer was seen purportedly showing a gun at a fan in Madurai. It occurred on Wednesday when the actor arrived in Madurai for a party meeting.

Netizens had criticised the behaviour of the security personell as the clip went viral.

However, the party's IT cell head Nirmal Kumar has clarified that the personnel did not threaten the fan and he was only trying to protect the actor.
