What Is The Controversy Around Malayalam Music Compoer Ramesh Narayan And Actor Asif Ali?
Netizens have come down heavily on Malayalam music composer Ramesh Narayan after he snubbed actor Asif at the trailer launch of upcoming alayalam anthology 'Manorathangal'.
The cast and crew who are part of the film was honoured with mementoes at the event. The viral video shows Asif Ali trying to present the award to Narayan, but he snubs him by refusing to receive it and asked filmmaker Jayarajan Nair to present the momento.

Although hesitant Jayarajan presented Ramesh the memento. His behaviour has not gone well with the netizens. A user said, "I guess Ramesh Narayan the Music Director stubbornly wanted to receive the award from his director Jayaraj. However he should have requested the same to organisers rather than disrespecting Asif by not even having eye-contact."
The second user commented, "Well there were people who didn't want to accept an award from Mohanlal. If that could happen to Mohanlal then Asif inde karyam parayanda. In any case, it's disrespectful to Asif." Another user felt, "Really bad and Ramesh Narayan had this kind of attitude in previous times too, During Ennu ninte moiden he kept allegations that Prithiviraj is interfering in my music."
Comparing his behaviour to South India's legendary music director Ilaiyaraaja, a netizen stated, "Seems like he is Mollywoods version of Ilayaraja." One netizen added, "It was totally disrespectful that too from an experienced old man. There is a basic thing called respect which ppl forget when they reach high level. Shame on you Ramesh Narayan."
However, Ramesh Narayan has not responded to the controversy.
Directed by MT Vasudevan Nair, the upcoming anthology has nine films starring Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kamal Haasan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Madhoo, among others. The flick will be out on an OTT platform in multiple languages on August 15.
