Vijay Can't Take Care Of Wife Sangeetha: DMK MLA Attacks TVK Chief, Brings Up Trisha, Keerthy Suresh's Names

Actor-turned-politician Vijay has found himself at the receiving end of a personal and political attack from DMK MLA KP Shankar, who used a government function in Tiruvottiyur to target the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief.

While addressing the gathering, Shankar dragged Vijay's film associations with actresses Trisha and Keerthy Suresh into his criticism. He mocked the actor's political understanding, saying, "What does Vijay, who is busy wondering whether to hang out with Trisha or Keerthy Suresh, know about the DMK party?"

The MLA then shifted focus to Vijay's personal life, questioning his marriage to Sangeetha. Without naming her directly, Shankar alleged that Vijay, who is unable to "take care of his own wife, father, and mother," cannot be expected to protect the people of Tamil Nadu if voted to power. His remarks come at a time when Vijay and Sangeetha's relationship has been under intense speculation online, with her absence at recent public events sparking divorce rumours.

Shankar also took offense at Vijay calling Chief Minister MK Stalin "Stalin Uncle" during a TVK conference speech. He recalled how Vijay once stood alongside his father at Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden, contrasting that with his present-day remarks. Shankar claimed, "If MK Stalin were like Jayalalithaa, Vijay would have been stripped and made to run for calling him 'uncle'. But Stalin is magnanimous and has chosen to ignore it."

The outburst comes in response to Vijay's positioning of the DMK as TVK's political adversary and the BJP as its ideological enemy ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls.

This was not an isolated incident of a DMK leader targeting Vijay in such a manner. Previously, DMK Minister MRK Panneerselvam drew attention by mocking Vijay's political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK).

During a public address, Panneerselvam initiated a wordplay with the party's initials. When he asked the cadres what 'T' stood for, a party worker mockingly shouted, "Trisha." The minister feigned surprise and responded, "You can say that, but I don't know anything!" which drew loud laughter. When another cadre suggested "Keerthy Suresh" for the letter 'K,' Panneerselvam sarcastically praised his "genius", according to a report in The Commune.
