Viduthalai 2 OTT Release: Where Will Vijay Sethupathi's Movie Be Released Online - Zee5 Or Amazon Prime?

Vijay Sethupathi and Soori's hit movie Viduthalai: Part 2, directed by Vetrimaaran, is all set to make the digital debut. This period-action thriller, which hit theatres in December, will also be available in a Telugu dubbed version from January 19.

While it was earlier reported that the movie will be available on Zee 5, it has now said that the rights have changed hands. Well, it will be released on Amazon Prime from Sunday. The story continues from where the first installment concluded, focusing on the capture of Perumal, played by Vijay Sethupathi.

The narrative delves into Perumal's journey from being a school teacher to becoming a revolutionary leader. His transformation significantly impacts police constable Kumaresan, portrayed by Soori, who was instrumental in Perumal's capture. The film uses flashbacks to reveal Perumal's life story as he shares it with policemen during his transfer.

Cast and Crew Insights

Viduthalai: Part 2 boasts an impressive cast including Manju Warrier, Chethan, Kishore, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, and Anurag Kashyap in key roles. The film's music is composed by Ilaiyaraaja, with cinematography by R. Velraj. RS Infotainment produced the movie, while R Ramar handled editing and Jacki served as art director.

Director Vetrimaaran expressed his thoughts on creating "Viduthalai," stating: "The journey of Viduthalai has been an incredibly special one for me. With Part 2, we've delved even deeper into the story, exploring the complexities of these characters and the world they inhabit. We aimed to showcase the moral and ideological struggles of people fighting for what they believe in while questioning the systemic forces that define their existence."

Extended Version Details

The digital release promises an extended version of "Viduthalai: Part 2." According to Vetrimaaran, this version will include an additional hour compared to the theatrical cut. In the US release, eight minutes were added after last-minute edits trimmed the original version. Combined with both parts of the duology, viewers can expect nearly eight hours of footage.
