'The Witcher' Season 4 First Look Dropped Today, Liam Hemsworth Replaces Henry Cavill
Netflix has finally dropped the first look teaser for Season 4 of 'The Witcher' series. This new teaser also shows the main character 'Geralt of Rivia' now being played by Liam Hemsworth.
The teaser is very simple and straightforward, as it depicts a fogbound forested area, where Geralt and his horse roam aimlessly. Geralt is seen with his iconic white hair, a silver sword on his back, and his witcher medallion hanging on his neck. The teaser eventually shifts to his back, where he turns around to face the camera. In this scene, we're able to get a good look at how Liam Hemsworth looks when playing as the witcher.

Liam Hemsworth will be replacing Henry Cavill as 'Geralt in Season 4 of 'The Witcher'. Many fans of the show and Henry Cavill in general expressed their sadness with the casting decision once the trailer dropped.

Liam looks great. Im looking forward to the new season. Without Henry Cavill The Witcher is incomplete! It was my favorite series when Henry was The Geralt Of Rivia. 🤭 pic.twitter.com/J1PiwaHCzq

But many others were also generally upset that the series was continuing at all, blaming their distaste for the series on the writers.
I couldnt get myself to complete the last season of The Witcher despite my love for Henry Cavill. I was happy he left the show.

The writers ruined a once beloved series for fans the world over. I am not eager to see what Netflix will do with Liam! I hope they disappoint me. pic.twitter.com/nbKOCpaYAm
Henry Cavil leaving the show isn’t that bad. The writers messing up the show is the problem. They are making a Witcher fan fiction, they changed critical elements of the story and books. This show is the biggest let down of any adaptation ever done.

Not my witcher.

They shouldve fired the writers and kept cavill on, the petition for that reached 340k sigs. And instead we got wishdotcom witcher and a mediocre story loosely based on the books that perpetuates ideologies.
The last couple seasons of 'The Witcher' received a lot of backlash due to poor writing. A lot of the complaints were also directed towards Henry Cavill.
Cavill, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, had previously said that he would remain dedicated to starring in 'The Witcher' series for at least seven seasons, adding on the statement "As long as we can keep telling great stories which honour Sapkowski's work." Andrzej Sapkowski being the writer behind the original Witcher books.
It seems, though, that this promise remained unfulfilled both from Netflix's side as well as Cavill's side. On 30 October, 2022 he confirmed his departure from the series after the ending of its third season, telling Liam Hemsworth, his successor for the role of 'Geralt of Rivia', that "this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find."
