The Family Man 3 Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Manoj Bajpayee's Web Series?

Four years after Season 2, The Family Man is gearing up for its most high-stakes chapter yet-and this time, the tables have turned on Srikant Tiwari.

For Season 3, the makers have taken the show far from its usual urban grid. The story moves into the rugged, rain-soaked landscapes of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, giving the series a new texture-and a lot more unpredictability. The team called this season one of their "toughest shoots", and considering the terrain, weather and logistics of the Northeast, you can see why. A few familiar Mumbai glimpses may pop in, but the visual shift is unmistakable.

The cast, too, gets a serious power upgrade. Jaideep Ahlawat walks in as Rukma-a character who looks like he could dismantle Srikant's world with a single move. Adding to the mix are Nimrat Kaur, Jugal Hansraj, Aditya Srivastava, Paalin Kabak and Harman Singha, giving Season 3 a wider, more textured ensemble.

For the first time, Srikant isn't chasing anyone-he's the one being chased.
Cut off from TASC, branded a fugitive, and stripped of his support system, he's forced to protect his family while trying to decode a conspiracy that's several steps ahead of him. Ahlawat and Nimrat's characters make things even more intense. They don't come across as standard-issue villains-they feel like ideological counterweights to Srikant, people who challenge his worldview as much as they threaten his life. Their presence injects a colder, more calculated form of danger into the story.

Season 3 also taps into a bigger, bolder geopolitical context. Instead of a single terror threat or local destabilisation attempt, the narrative expands into bio-strategy, misinformation warfare and foreign intelligence interference, reflecting the kind of conflicts that simmer in the real world today. It builds on hints dropped in the previous season, especially the final tease about a covert Chinese operation. This time, that shadow grows into a full-blown strategic threat.

Yet, even with all the geopolitical machinery running in the background, the heart of the story stays where it always has-inside Srikant's home. His wife and kids aren't just background characters anymore. They feel the heat directly, pushed into hiding, forced to confront truths Srikant tried to shield them from. Their fear becomes the show's emotional anchor, and their vulnerability becomes the pressure point that Srikant must fight hardest to protect.

Season 3 plays bigger, looks bolder, and hits more personally. It pulls Srikant away from the comfort of teams and agencies, strips him down to his instincts, and throws him into a crisis where the enemy operates in silence and shadows.

Nimrat Kaur's character in Family Man 3 - still don't know what her actual role was. They showed her as powerful and dominant in the first episode, and by the end, the character had no real purpose.

Seems like the creators of #TheFamilyMan3 have been tuning in to Defence Twitter Spaces, the show opens with India-France defence ties, a shift from the traditional Russia setup, and a middleman subplot right from the first episode 🤡

Overall Its a great season but ending could have been better.

Must watch Web Series.

The best of the season is the location of shooting and that is North-east.

All vehicles having AR and NL numbers, supporting actors & all junior staff are from North East that gives the web-series a Tangible & overall authentic essence of the story.

In Nagaland, they started the shooting at 4am to align with local timings and crew members left their hotels 2am and wrapped the day by 6pm because there was no sunlight after 6pm.

As usual, Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari did excellent work with brilliant support by Jaideep Ahlawat as Rukma and Sharib Hashmi as JK Talpade.

The other best part is the entry of
Vijay Sethupathi as Michael.
