Thalapathy Vijay's TVK Fails To Send Tamil New Year Wishes; Labelled 'Anti Hindu'

Tamil actor Vijay, who has floated his own political party 'Tamilaga Vetri Kazham' (TVK), has come under attack from a section of netizens for failing to wish Hindus on the occasion of Tamil New Year, just like Chief Minister MK Stalin.

The actor used to send Tamil New Year wishes earlier. However, this time, Vijay did not wish although his party's X handle sent its wishes for Dr BR Ambedkar's birth anniversary on Sunday.

The ruling DMK has noticeably refrained from offering greetings on the Tamil New Year. In fact, the DMK had made alterations to the Tamil New Year, moving it from April 14 to January 14/15 (Pongal).

After the launch of his party, Vijay hinted that he wouldn't follow the typical Dravidian party ideology. He demonstrated this by omitting the word 'Dravidian' from his party's name.

Now, Vijay's party is being attacked by netizens that it too is a Dravidian party and called as "anti-Hindu" party.

One user slammed: "No wishes for Tamil New Year from Vijay, clearly sticking on to the D ideology that today is not Tamil new year. Just wishes for Ambedkar birthday today. Only a deranged group that's never touched a book in a century would accept such distortion of history upon itself. Sympathies to anyone who thought Mr. Vijay was some force of change. On this Tamil New Year day, let's wish for better senses to prevail upon the Tamil society to choose its leaders well."

The same user criticised, "Just in 2022, when Vijay's Beast was releasing on 13 April, Mr.Vijay wished for Tamil New Year. Magically, once he entered politics, Tamil New Year date suddenly shifted to January 14. Chameleons might be ashamed of politician's swifter color changes."

"He didn't wish for Tamil New Year which even US president Biden wished," the second user commented.

The third user said, "Wow.... Ridiculous that neither Stalin nor Vijay etc wished for Tamil New Year! What a joke!" Another user questioned, "Why didn't Vijay wish on TAMIL New Year?"

The fourth netizen said, "Kevalama irukku. Why couldn't the great Joseph Vijay wish for Tamil new year but could wish for ramzan. He is going to make a fool of all fans and take them for a ride exactly like komalihasan. Tamilnadu has given him everything and he can't wish is it. Please wake up all of you."

The fifth netizen added, "Dheeeraj@dheeruutweets· 2 blunders by Vijay during net practice already. 1) Half baked tweet on CAA 2) No wishes for Tamil New Year."
