Sunjay Kapur’s Sister Pens Emotional Raksha Bandhan Tribute Amid Sona Comstar Turmoil

Mandhira Kapur, sister of late businessman and Sona Comstar chairperson Sunjay Kapur, shared a deeply emotional note on Instagram this Raksha Bandhan, blending grief with a subtle hint at the ongoing tensions surrounding his company.

On Saturday, Mandhira posted an old photograph featuring herself, Sunjay, and their mother. In her heartfelt message, she wrote, "It's taken me all day to write this, as today has been especially difficult. As Raksha Bandhan winds down, placing flowers near your picture, I tried to stay composed while Mum cried."

She continued, "The thread that binds us, invisible yet strong, remains unbroken, as eternal as our memories. I relive the moments spent with you, and now, I find myself protecting what you would have wanted, and what Dad dreamed-though it was always meant to be the other way around. If you were still here, everything would be different, everything would be better, my dear Bhaiya."

Mandhira described tying a thread to the corner of Sunjay's picture, recalling his "handsome, smiling face" and the way he carried their father's legacy. She ended her note with, "Protecting your memory is my sacred duty. We are brave, and I know you'll continue to protect us. Raksha Bandhan reminds me that love transcends time. Our bond is unbreakable, forever intertwined."

Family dispute over Sona Comstar

Her post comes amid heightened tensions within the Kapur family following Sunjay's death in London. His mother, Rani Kapur, has described the circumstances of his passing as "mysterious" and filed a criminal complaint with UK authorities requesting an investigation.

In her first public statement, Rani alleged she was coerced into signing documents, faced financial restrictions, and raised concerns over the handling of the company's legacy. Sona Comstar, however, denied her claims, stating she has had no role in the company since 2019 and has issued her a legal notice for making "false" allegations.

Cause of death

Sunjay Kapur died on June 12 at Windsor's Guards Polo Club. A medical examination ruled his death as natural, citing cardiac-related causes. The postmortem report revealed a markedly enlarged heart with thickened left ventricular walls and mild coronary artery disease. Medical experts concluded the cause of death as Left Ventricular Hypertrophy and Ischaemic Heart Disease.

Sunjay was previously married to Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor, with whom he had two children. He later married Priya Sachdeva and had a son with her.
