Sujay Kapur's Property Dispute: Karisma Kapoor's Kids Sue Stepmother Priya Over ₹30,000 Cr Empire

The Delhi High Court has received a petition from Samaira and Kiaan, the children of the late businessman Sunjay Kapur and actor Karisma Kapoor, who are seeking a portion of their father's estimated ₹30,000 crore estate, Bar and Bench reported.

Samaira and Kiaan have alleged that Priya Kapur, Sunjay Kapur's third wife, fabricated his will in an attempt to seize total control of his assets. Represented by their mother, the children filed the suit, contending they were unlawfully disinherited by Priya Kapur following the businessman's death from a heart attack during a polo match in London earlier this June.

Those named in the lawsuit include Priya Kapur, her son, Sunjay's mother Rani Kapur, and the will's alleged executor, Shradha Suri Marwah. The core of the conflict is a will dated March 21, 2025, which is said to bequeath Sunjay Kapur's personal estate solely to his third wife.

Karisma Kapoor tied the knot with Sunjay Kapur in 2003 and they got divorced in 2016. Their children have accused Priya Kapur of collaborating with two associates, Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma, to conceal the will for over seven weeks before presenting it to the family at a meeting in July.

The suit declared, "The Plaintiffs submit that the purported will allegedly executed by the Plaintiffs' father is not a legal and valid document, is forged and fabricated, and in any event surrounded by suspicious circumstances. It is for this reason that neither the original of the Alleged Purported Will has been shown to the Plaintiffs nor a copy of the Alleged Purported Will has been provided."

They have also accused Priya Kapur of trying to take full control of Sunjay's estate. The plea has requested the court to recognize them as Class I legal heirs and to issue a decree granting them each a one-fifth share of their father's assets.

As an interim measure, they have also asked the court to place a freeze on all of Sunjay Kapur's personal assets until the case is settled.

After his death, Rani Kapur, mother of Sujay Kapur, claimed that while the family was in mourning, certain individuals viewed his death as a chance to seize control and take over the family legacy.
