Stop Comparing Jovika With Devyani's Daughter: Vanitha Vijayakumar Slams Netizens For Critical Words
Vanitha Vijayakumar, an actress and filmmaker, is currently promoting her new film 'Mrs. and Mister.' Recently, she addressed online criticism regarding a controversial incident involving veteran actress Devayani. Vanitha condemned the "hurtful" comparisons being made between her daughter, Jovika, and Devayani's daughter.
The controversy began at a promotional event for 'Mrs. and Mister,' which Vanitha wrote, directed, and starred in. Her daughter Jovika produced the film. Photos from the event showed Vanitha seated while Devayani stood nearby. This led to social media backlash accusing Vanitha of arrogance.

Clarifying Misunderstandings
In a recent interview with her daughter, Vanitha clarified the situation. She explained that the images were misinterpreted and taken out of context. "Devayani and I are good friends; we share a very casual and respectful relationship," she stated.
Vanitha elaborated that she had repeatedly asked Devayani to sit beside her during the event. However, Devayani graciously declined, insisting that Vanitha should remain seated as she was the focus of the film's promotion.
Addressing Unfair Comparisons
Beyond this incident, Vanitha expressed concern over comparisons between her daughter Jovika and Devayani's daughter Iniyaa Rajakumaran. As Jovica debuts as a producer, she faces public scrutiny that Vanitha finds unfair.
"I don't understand why they are comparing me like this [with Devayani], but it's even more upsetting that they are comparing my daughter with Devayani's daughter," Vanitha expressed with concern.
A Career Resurgence
Vanitha Vijayakumar first gained fame in the 1990s but has recently experienced a career resurgence through popular TV shows like "Bigg Boss Tamil" and "Cooku with Comali." Known for her outspoken nature, she is now focusing on "Mrs. and Mister," a significant mother-daughter collaboration.
As they continue their promotional tour for the film's release, Vanitha remains committed to addressing misconceptions and supporting her daughter's debut in the industry.
