Sikandar OTT Release Date: Salman Khan’s Massy Drama Streaming Online This Sunday

After a lukewarm reception in theatres, Sikandar, the high-octane action drama starring Salman Khan, is gearing up for its second innings - this time on OTT. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film hit the big screens on March 30, 2025, but struggled to leave a mark both critically and commercially.

Now, the film is set to premiere on Netflix, with streaming beginning from midnight on May 25. The platform has already updated the film's status as "Coming on Sunday" on its interface.

What's Sikandar About?

The story follows Sanjay Rajkot, played by Salman Khan, a man revered by the public and feared by the corrupt - better known as Sikandar. A protector of the oppressed, Sikandar's life takes a dramatic turn when he locks horns with a corrupt minister and his reckless son. What begins as a personal vendetta soon spirals into a larger battle against injustice, with Sikandar leading the charge.

Filled with power-packed action sequences, dramatic confrontations, and emotional moments, the film attempts to blend mass appeal with a message-driven plot. But despite its intentions, the theatrical run didn't quite deliver the punch expected from a Salman Khan starrer.

All Eyes on the OTT Release

With its Netflix debut, the makers will be hoping for a digital revival. It remains to be seen whether Sikandar can redeem itself among OTT audiences who may connect better with its story in the comfort of their homes.

Despite underperforming at the box office, Sikandar managed to recover a significant portion of its investment through the sale of its digital rights, reportedly fetching ₹85 crore. With its OTT release, the film now has a fresh opportunity to connect with audiences.

Featuring a stellar ensemble cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Sanjay Kapoor, and Nawab Shah, the film boasts high production value and commendable performances. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala with music by Pritam, Sikandar brings grandeur and emotional depth, even if it didn't quite strike gold in theatres.
