Self-Discipline, Shun Bad Company, Stay Drug Free: Vijay's Powerful Words To Students - Watch
Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay, in an event organized by his political party 'Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam', met top-performing students from class 10 and 12 across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Held at Chennai's Ramachandra Convention Centre in Thiruvanmiyur, the event celebrated their academic achievements, with another session scheduled for July 3.
Addressing the students, Vijay encouraged them to steer clear of detrimental habits and emphasized the importance of maintaining their individuality. "Some students have a clear vision of their future aspirations, while others may need guidance," he remarked. "Consult your parents, teachers, and career counselors for advice. Remember, success comes to those who put their best efforts into their chosen field."

Highlighting the influence of friendships, Vijay urged students to choose their companions wisely. "While friendships form naturally, it's crucial to steer friends away from negative influences. Cultivating self-discipline is key," he advised.
During the event, Vijay made a symbolic gesture by wearing a tilak, applied with affection by a woman, and sitting alongside Chinnadurai, a student from Nanguneri affected by caste discrimination, making a subtle political statement.
While acknowledging societal issues like drug abuse, Vijay stressed the need for personal responsibility among youth. "While the government has a role in addressing drug usage, our immediate focus should be on self-control and safeguarding our well-being," he added.
The students from Ariyalur, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Dindugal, Erode, Kanniyakumar, Karur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Namakkal, Niligiris, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Salem, Sivagangai, Tenkasi, Theni, Thuthukudi, Tirunelveli, Tiruppur and Virudhunagar attended the event.
