'Salaar' Advance Booking Begins: Tickets Of Prabhas-Starrer Selling Like Hot Cakes

The advance booking of Prabhas-starrer 'Salaar' has started on a positive note. The multilingual movie, directed by 'KGF' fame Prashanth Neel, was kicked off on booking portals days ago and it commenced in North India on Sunday.

Hombale Films, the production house, announced on Sunday that the advance booking across North India has been started on BookMyShow and PayTm. The movie is being released in five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam - on December 22.

It is estimated that the movie will be released on over 2500 screens in India. The figures are expected to increase closer to the release date.

Sources say that the tickets are selling like hotcakes. Especially in Andhra and Telangana, the home territory of Prabhas, there is a massive craze for the film. As a result, the theatrical rights of each region have been sold for record prices.

If we have to go by the trade trackers' words, the makers have earned over Rs 170 crore from the sale of Andhra and Telangana theatrical rights. It means the movie should mint over Rs 300 crore from these two regions alone in order to become a profitable venture.

Trade sources say that pre-booking of movie tickets has met with good response in Bengaluru as well. On the other hand, the fans in the US have given a great response to 'Salaar' as over 1 million tickets have been sold, so far.

However, the movie will lock horns with Shah Rukh Khan and Raju Hirani's 'Dunki' which will see the light of the day on December 21. The clash is expected to take a toll on the 'Salaar' business in North India.

Going by the trends, Prashanth Neel's movie is likely to gross over Rs 50 crore in India alone.
