Rashmika Mandanna On Allu Arjun's Arrest: 'Blaming One Individual is Unfair'

Rashmika Mandanna, co-star of Allu Arjun in the anticipated film "Pushpa 2," shared her thoughts on the distressing incident that led to Allu Arjun's arrest. Following a tragic event at the film's premiere at Sandhya Theatre, which resulted in the death of a woman and injury to her son due to a stampede, Allu Arjun faced legal action.

Despite the grim circumstances, Mandanna conveyed her sorrow and disbelief, emphasizing the unfairness of holding Allu Arjun solely accountable. "The incident that happened was an unfortunate and deeply saddening incident. However, it is disheartening to see everything being blamed on a single individual. This situation is both unbelievable and heartbreaking," she stated on X.

On December 4, chaos ensued at the "Pushpa 2" premiere in Hyderabad's Sandhya Theatre when an overwhelming crowd led to a fatal stampede.

The incident prompted the filing of a case against Allu Arjun, his security detail, and the theatre's management. Subsequently, Allu Arjun was taken into custody but later received interim bail from the Telangana High Court. The arrest and subsequent legal proceedings have sparked a wave of support for the actor from both fans and fellow industry members.

Raza Murad, a seasoned actor, alongside Telugu cinema's Nani and Sundeep Kishan, voiced their support, questioning the rationale behind Allu Arjun's arrest. Murad expressed bewilderment at the actor being blamed for the stampede, highlighting that crowd management falls outside an actor's purview. "A stampede occurred, a person died, and people were injured. What was the actor's fault? The theatre's management does not fall under the actor's responsibility. Crowd control is not an actor's job. If that is the reason for the arrest, it is beyond my understanding... I am surprised... It is not a crime to be popular or to work in hit films. The actor doesn't gather a crowd. A crowd gathers due to the popularity of a film or an actor," Murad told ANI.

Actor Nani took to X to express his thoughts on the incident and the attention it garnered, suggesting that if government authorities and media exhibited the same zeal in their duties towards ordinary citizens, societal conditions might improve. Furthermore, Nani emphasized the collective responsibility in learning from such tragedies to prevent future occurrences. "We should all learn from the disaster and be lot more careful here after and introduce measures to make sure this doesn't happen again. We are all at fault here. One person is not responsible for this," he remarked.

Echoing Nani's sentiments, Sundeep Kishan also shared his perspective on X, advocating for a collective learning experience rather than placing blame on an individual. He underscored the importance of understanding and addressing the root causes of such events to ensure they do not repeat. "How can One Man be Held Responsible for an extremely unfortunate Crowd Event Gone Wrong, Especially in a country that thrives on its Population & Celebratory Gatherings, We need to learn from this & make sure it doesn't repeat again rather than point blame. Love You Allu Arjun Anna," Kishan posted.
