Ranbir Kapoor’s N*de Scene In 'Animal': Director Reveals Behind-The-Scenes Details

Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Ranbir Kapoor collaborated for the 2023 film 'Animal,' which became a blockbuster at the box office despite receiving extreme reactions. Some scenes from the movie sparked wide discussions, one of them being Kapoor's nude walk sequence. Most recently, the director revealed that filming this scene was easy due to Kapoor's supportive nature.

During a conversation with Komal Nahta, Vanga credited the success of 'Animal' to the strong understanding between him and Kapoor. He highlighted how the actor trusted his vision completely. Even when Kapoor questioned if they were heading in the right direction, he would ultimately encourage Vanga to proceed as he wished, without hesitation.

Ranbir Kapoor s N de Scene

To illustrate his point, Vanga referred to the nude walk scene. Initially, the team planned to use prosthetics for the thighs and lower body. The test shoot went well, but when they attempted it during the actual filming, the effect did not look convincing.

"In fact, we planned to shoot the scene in full focus and use props to cover the groin as he walked. However, due to the prosthetics not working properly, I just said we will shoot the scene out of focus," he explained.

The director noted that such a last-minute change could have been frustrating for any actor, especially after hours of preparation and prosthetic fittings. However, Kapoor remained calm and adaptable.

"He just said okay immediately. There was no discussion. It was a ten-minute conversation where I said shooting it out of focus would make things more eerie and curious. And he was ready," Vanga shared.

The filmmaker emphasised that a strong bond between an actor and director creates a comfortable working environment. He added that regardless of the final outcome, mutual understanding makes filmmaking an enjoyable process driven by conviction.

Following the success of 'Animal,' fans are now eagerly awaiting its sequel, 'Animal Park.'
