Post Vijayadashami Success, 'Leo' Witnesses Significant Decline In Box Office Earnings
After setting the box office on fire during the holidays, the collection of Vijay's 'Leo' has dropped big time from Wednesday.
Released in over 750 screens in Tamil Nadu, the movie became the biggest opener of the year in Kollywood as it minted over Rs 32 crore on the opening day. Thereafter, the movie did exceptionally well during the extended Vijayadashami holiday weekend.

However, the business dropped from Wednesday. According to Sacnik, the collection saw about 55 per cent dip on Wednesday.

This has also led to a fight between the fans of Vijay and other actors. Many Vijay haters are sharing the clips and screenshots from the ticket booking portals to indicate that the shows are running empty.
Meanwhile, leading distributor Tirupur Subramanian has said that Vijay's latest movie is not a profitable venture for exhibitors.

"Leo was not a profitable film for us. The reason is that they have bought share distribution, which is unprecedented in Tamil Nadu. Most theatre owners did not screen this film willingly," he said in an interview.
Furthermore, he said that the current revenue-sharing model was unjust to the theatres. Subramanian went on to emphasize that with these inequitable revenue-sharing arrangements persisting, it becomes increasingly challenging to adequately cover theater maintenance and operational expenses.

Meanwhile, there are contradicting reports over the collection made by 'Leo' at the Tamil Nadu box office. While a section of industry insiders have claimed that the movie has minted around Rs 100 crore, so far, some people on social media claimed that it has minted over Rs 150 crore in the first week in its home territory.
