Poonam Pandey's Video Goes Viral As She Fakes Her Death

In what could be considered as a big shock to cine-goers, model and actress Poonam Pandey faked her death in a bid to spread awareness about cervical cancer.

It all started with a social media post where it was claimed that Poonam was dead.

"This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we could request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared," the message read.

As the news of her death spread, her last video shared on her social media page went viral. It was posted on her account on January 31.

However, a day later, Poonam claimed that she was alive.It turns out the news of her death was fake, a stunt pulled off by the actor and her team to spread "critical awareness" about cervical cancer.

In a video, posted on her official Instagram page, Pandey said, "I feel compelled to share something significant with you all - I am here, alive." "Cervical cancer didn't claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease," the 32-year-old added.

Poonam Pandey, who hails from Kanpur, started off her professional journey as a model, and she quickly rose to prominence. Poonam was one of the nine participants in the renowned Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest.

She came to the limelight in 2011 when she announced that she would strip naked if India won the ODI World Cup. However, she did not keep her promise but remained in the news with the raunchy pictures that she used to share on her social media pages.

However, she stripped naked in 2012 after Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL 5.
