‘Panchayat’ Creators Return With New Village Comedy ‘Gram Chikitsalaya’ – Streaming May 9
The highly praised series Panchayat's creators are making a comeback with Gramme Chikitsalaya, a brand-new comedic drama that will debut on Prime Video on May 9. With its distinctive blend of accessible humour and rustic charm, this new series, which is produced by TVF (The Viral Fever), is set to captivate viewers once more.
With its focus on a young urban professional negotiating life in a remote Indian community, Gramme Chikitsalaya shares a narrative framework with Panchayat. The main character this time is a recently posted doctor, played by Amol Parashar, rather than a government clerk. The plot centres on his attempts to reopen a long-closed government medical facility in a small rural town, providing its citizens with free, cutting-edge care.

The twist? Despite having no medical training, the local quack is revered by the locals as a saviour. As he works to gain the faith of the villagers and restore authentic healthcare to the centre of the community, the young doctor must overcome their opposition, scepticism, and superstition.
The show's trailer, which was made public by Prime Video, highlights the cultural peculiarities and daily struggles experienced by professionals in small-town India while offering a charming and funny look at rural healthcare challenges. With a completely fresh plot and characters who examine many socioeconomic issues, the series maintains the village-based location and slice-of-life tone that made Panchayat so popular.
Gramme Chikitsalaya, which was directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, who earlier directed Panchayat, highlights the conflict between traditional beliefs and contemporary medicine in India's hinterlands by fusing comedy and social satire.
The show, which will debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on May 9, is anticipated to appeal to those who enjoy comic dramas with a rural theme. With Amol Parashar at the helm and TVF's dependable creative staff supporting him, Gramme Chikitsalaya appears poised to carry on the tradition of realistic, humorous, and perceptive storytelling.
Stay tuned as Gram Chikitsalaya brings a fresh dose of laughter and life lessons straight from the heart of rural India.
