Has Netflix Really Acquired Naga Chaitanya-Sobhita Dhulipala's Wedding Rights?

The much-awaited wedding of Telugu star Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and actress Sobhita Dhulipala will be held on December 4 at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.

As per the reports in the Telugu media, the wedding will be performed as per the traditional Brahmin customs, as requested by Sobhita's parents. The wedding muhurat is said to be at an auspicious time of 8:13 pm.

The event is expected to be a grand affair, with an intimate guest list of around 300 people, including family, close friends, and industry insiders.

A section of media had reported that Netflix had acquired the wedding rights.

While the Akkinenis have not announced the deal, rumours were rife that Netflix had paid a bomb to acquire the streaming rights. Well, it was said that Netflix had paid Rs 50 crore for the rights. It may be recalled that the streaming giant had paid Rs 25 crore for Nayanthara's marriage. However, there is no truth in the claims.

Sources close to the family has told entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala that there is no truth to the claims. "Reports suggesting that @chay_akkineni and @sobhitaD 's wedding will be sold to an OTT platform are completely false. A close source has confirmed that these rumors are baseless. The couple is focused on keeping their special day private and personal,"

The wedding will take place in front of a statue of Naga Chaitanya's legendary grandfather, the late Akkineni Nageswara Rao, at Annapurna Studios. The couple, who are both popular in the film industry, will have their special day overseen by none other than Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya's father and a seasoned pan-India star, ensuring every detail is meticulously planned.

Talking about the buzz around the marriage, a source told News18: "He is a rising star and also quite popular among Hindi and other non-Telugu OTT viewers. On the other hand, actress Sobhita was seen in Telugu films like ' 'Major' and also in the Tamil film 'Ponniyin Selvan'. Her Hindi outreach with web series like 'Love, Sitara' and the American movie 'Monkey Man' expanded her fan base," The source added: "It is the most-awaited event in the tinsel world since two popular actors are getting married and seasoned pan-India star Nagarjuna is organizing and supervising the arrangements".

The OTT platform has not announced the date, yet.

Meanwhile, the pre-wedding celebrations are already underway at Sobhita's family home in Visakhapatnam.
