'Mr Bachchan' Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad; Find Out Here

Ravi Teja's 'Mr Bachchan' is an action crime drama directed by Harish Shankar. Bhagyashri Borse is the female lead in the flick which has Jagapathi Babu, Satya, Sachin Khedekar, Chammak Chandra and others in the cast.

The Telugu movie, which has been released to coincide with the Independence Day celebration, has Mickey J Meyer's music, Ayananka Bose's cinematography and Ujwal Kulkarni's editing.

The movie is a remake of the Hindi movie 'Raid' which starred Ajay Devgn and Ileana in key roles.

The story deals around an honest tax officer who carries out a raid on a powerful politician. The film throws light at the difficulties faced by the the officers and how the system try to clip the wings.

The film is loosely inspired by what is considered one of the longest-running Income Tax raids in history. On July 16, 1981, IT officials conducted a raid at the residence of businessman and Congress MLA, as well as former Rajya Sabha member, Sardar Inder Singh, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The day began uneventfully, with deputy director (Intelligence) Alok Kumar Batabyal, who led the raid, leaving his Swaroop Nagar home with a team of officers, attracting little attention. During the raid, undeclared assets worth ₹16 million (US$190,000) in cash and gold were uncovered. It reportedly took 45 individuals nearly 18 hours to count the cash.

Venky Reviews: #MrBachchan is an outdated commercial entertainer that totally deviates from the core soul of #Raid and tries to fill it with commercial elements that do not work at all. The entertainment quotient only works in few places and tests your patience for the most part. It seems like the directors main goal was to highlight the herione Bhagyashri Borse which he did well. The songs stand out. The rest is skippable!
