Mental Health Awareness: Aamir Khan Says He Was In 'Depression', Know How He Overcame

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who is also known as Mr Perfectionist, recently narrated a small story about his personal mental health, how he went into depression when his films failed, and how he overcame it.

"When my films fail, I go into a sort of depression for two to three weeks. Then, I sit with my team, analyze what went wrong, and learn from it. I really value my failures because they push me to do better," Aamir Khan said at an event organized by ABP news.

Aamir said when his film Laal Singh Chaddha failed to impress the audience, he felt bad and took it to heart.

Kiran Rao, Aamir's ex-wife, disclosed how failure in life impacted their family. She said, "It did take a toll on us," emphasizing how the family rallied around Aamir during this challenging time. She also revealed Aamir's decision to take a hiatus post the film's release to spend quality time with the family, indicating how closely intertwined his personal and professional lives are.

Kiran Rao provided further insight into possible reasons behind the film's lackluster reception. She mentioned, "The pitch of the film was maybe not what people expected after seeing Forrest Gump. The pacing perhaps didn't quite work and we were coming out of COVID-19 and maybe it was not the right film to bring straight after Covid." This reflection suggests that the timing and execution of the film might have contributed to its disappointing performance.

"Laal Singh Chaddha," starring Aamir Khan alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya, was an official Hindi remake of the 1994 Tom Hanks classic "Forrest Gump." Directed by Advait Chandan, the film had generated significant buzz pre-release due to its beloved source material and Aamir Khan's track record of delivering hits. However, despite the anticipation, it failed to resonate with audiences as expected.
