PR expert Eric Schiffer did not hold back in his critique. Speaking to Newsweek, Schiffer called the show a "ratings disaster," branding Meghan as the "Duchess of Flops." He argued that her attempt to present herself as a "modern-day Martha Stewart" felt disconnected and desperate. Schiffer suggested Meghan should focus on her charitable work rather than entering the lifestyle and cooking genre.

The show also generated controversy over Meghan's reaction to actress Mindy Kaling addressing her as "Meghan Markle" instead of the Duchess of Sussex. Additionally, Meghan's decision to repackage Trader Joe's Peanut Butter Pretzel Nuggets into personalised bags was met with criticism, with some calling it unnecessary and pretentious.
