Mawra Hocane’s Instagram Back: Pakistani Actress Account Unblocked in India Again After 60-Day Blackout
Pakistani actor Mawra Hocane's Instagram account has become accessible again for Indian users after a nearly two-month ban. The account was blocked following rising political tensions after the April terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives.

In response to the attack, the Indian government enforced a sweeping ban on Pakistani artists, restricting their presence across media platforms, including their social media profiles. While Mawra's Instagram account has now resurfaced, other Pakistani celebrities like Mahira Khan, Atif Aslam, Fawad Khan, and Hania Aamir remain inaccessible to users in India.
Mawra Hocane faced significant backlash after calling India's Operation Sindoor "cowardly" in a now-deleted social media post. The remark triggered outrage and led to several industry figures distancing themselves from the actor.
Just hours before her Instagram became visible again, Mawra shared a fan-made reel from her 2016 Bollywood debut, Sanam Teri Kasam-a film that initially brought her fame in India.
However, Mawra has since been removed from the Sanam Teri Kasam sequel. Co-star Harshvardhan Rane declared he wouldn't participate if the original cast was repeated, citing patriotism. He stated on Instagram:
"If there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated, I will respectfully decline."
Directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru confirmed:
"Mawra definitely nahi hai (Mawra is definitely not a part of it)."
