Mary D’Costa Breaks Silence on Viral Chats, Denies Any Role in Palash Muchhal–Smriti Mandhana Wedding Delay

Mary D'Costa addressed rumours linking her to the delay of Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana's wedding. Late on Wednesday night, she posted on Instagram, clarifying her brief interaction with Palash Muchhal. Mary stated their contact lasted only a month and they never met, dismissing speculation about her involvement.

The alleged chats between Mary D'Costa and Palash Muchhal quickly went viral on social media. These conversations, reportedly shared by Mary on Reddit, fueled speculation and gossip. Although the Reddit account and its display picture have been deactivated, the screenshots of these chats continue to circulate widely.

Mary D'Costa Clears the Air

Mary D'Costa's Instagram note stated, "First, the exchange of chats happened between April 29th and May 30th 2025, so the contact lasted for only one month. I want to make it absolutely clear that I never met him and I never got involved with him in any way." Her statement aimed to put an end to the swirling rumours.

Many people questioned the timing of Mary's statement. She addressed this by saying, "People have been asking, 'Why speak about this now?' The truth is, I actually exposed him back in July, but no one really knew who he was at that time, so it went unnoticed." Her explanation aimed to clarify the timing and reasoning behind her statement.
Clarifying Misconceptions

Mary D'Costa also addressed confusion regarding her identity. She wrote, "There's also been a lot of confusion about who I am. I want to clarify, I am not the choreographer, and I am not the person he cheated with. I'm saying this because things are getting mixed up, and I don't want people assuming the wrong things." Her clarification sought to prevent further misunderstandings.

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal had planned their wedding for 23 November in Sangli, Maharashtra. Unfortunately, the ceremony was postponed when Smriti's father was hospitalised due to heart-related issues. Despite the postponement, pre-wedding events like the sangeet and haldi had already taken place in Sangli.

Amidst the wedding postponement, Palash Muchhal also faced health issues. He was admitted to a Mumbai hospital because of exhaustion and stress, according to the Hindustan Times. Meanwhile, speculation continued as Smriti removed engagement and pre-wedding photos from her Instagram, adding to the intrigue.
