'Maidaan' 1st Day Box Office Collection: Ajay Devgn's Film Off To Slow Start, No Match To Salman's Eid Opening

Ajay Devgn's latest movie 'Maidaan' is off to a slow start at the box office. After much delay, the Hindi flick hit the screens on Wednesday to coincide with the Eid celebration.

As per the reports, a total of 12,950 tickets of the Hindi movie has been sold across the top three national chains (PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis), including paid previews. PVR-Inox contributed 10,400 tickets to this tally, while Cinepolis added another 2,550 tickets.

Notably, a substantial portion of these sales, amounting to 8,800 tickets, came from the paid previews held on April 10, setting a promising tone for the film's theatrical run.

The movie is predicted to earn in the range from Rs 10-14 crore on the first day.

Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh has projected the film's first-day earnings to be around Rs 10 crore, suggesting that a stronger resonance with the movie's songs could have bolstered its opening reception. Conversely, analyst Atul Mohan anticipates the sports drama to rake in between Rs 10-12 crore on its debut.

However, the Eid festival has traditionally been synonymous with Salman Khan, whose films frequently grace the screens during this celebratory period. It's worth noting that the anticipated earnings of this film pale in comparison to Salman Khan's box office juggernauts over the years, including "Dabangg" (2010) with Rs 14.50 crore, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (2015) with Rs 27.25 crore, and "Sultan" (2016) with Rs 36.54 crore, among others.
