Actor Soori himself has written the story for Maaman which has Dinesh Purushothaman's cinematography, Ganesh Siva's editing and Hesham Abdul Wahab's music.

Rajasekar: #Maaman - 3.25 out of 5, an emotionally hard hitting drama that emphasises on the importance of family, Maaman -Marumagan bond, brother-sister relationship and above all, how a husband and wife should stay together against all odds by apologising for their mistakes and respect each other.
@sooriofficial delivers a towering performance yet again, he makes you emotional and weep in many scenes.
@AishuL_ gets a solid role this time around in Tamil cinema ! Her point of view in the film is right and it's a balanced character. #Swasika once again excels in a well written role.

On the downside, the film is melodramatic and some of the scenes are contrived.

Nevertheless, the emotional moments work well and make you feel for the characters. For the fans of Kadai Kutty Singam and Namma Veettu Pillai.

Haricharan Pudipeddi: #Maaman is a deeply emotional drama that strongly rests on uncle-nephew relationship which gets fleshed out in a refreshing way. @sooriofficial shines yet again in a tailor-made character which he justifies so comfortably, making it another memorable performance. Second half is where the film's heart lies and it works well in leaving a strong impact.
