Kunal shared the message via his Instagram Stories, showing a chat with someone identifying as a casting agent for the upcoming season of the show-infamous for its controversies and dramatic twists.

The message from the casting director read: "I am handling the casting for this season of Bigg Boss and your name came up as someone they might find interesting. I know it might not have been on your radar, but honestly, it's such a mad platform to show your real vibe and win over a massive audience. What do you think? Should we talk about it?"

Kamra replied: "I would much rather check into a mental hospital..." He posted the exchange accompanied by a track from Salman Khan's film 'Radhe'. It's unclear whether the approach was made for Bigg Boss OTT or the 19th main season of Bigg Boss.

What's the recent controversy involving Kunal Kamra?

The row involving Kunal Kamra stems from comments he made during a stand-up performance in Mumbai, which were directed at Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The remarks led to the registration of an FIR and a summons being issued against him for alleged defamation and promoting public mischief.

Kamra has since claimed he received around 500 death threats in the aftermath, prompting him to leave Mumbai and return to Puducherry, where he is currently settled.

He approached the Madras High Court and was granted interim protection from arrest by the Mumbai Police concerning the case.

Earlier this week, the ticketing platform BookMyShow also issued a statement after Kamra publicly urged them not to "delist" him and asked for transparency. The company stated that "facts have been misrepresented", clarifying their position in the matter.
