Karthi's Daughter Umayal Becomes Cynosure Of All Eyes At Suriya's Retro Event

Karthi's daughter Umayal hogged all the attention at the audio launch function of Suriya's upcoming Tamil movie Retro on Friday. The event, which was held at the Nehru Stadium in Chennai, had the presence of Pooja Hegde, director Karthik Subbaraj, actors Nasser and Joju George, and music director Santhosh Narayanan among others.

Umayal Becomes Cynosure Of All Eyes

While Suriya's wife, actress Jyothika, and their children Diya and Dev, did not turn up to the audio launch event, it was Karthi's daughter Umayal who became the cynosure of all eyes at the event, which was graced by 1000s of Suriya fans across the state.

Umayal arrived at the venue holding the hands of her grandfather Sivakumar. Quickly, she garnered the attention of the shutterbugs. However, her father and actor Karthi did not attend as he has gone to Sabarimala along with fellow actor Jayam Ravi.

Going by the latest visuals, Karthi and Ravi had their darshan in the Sabarimala and they are expected to arrive at Chennai soon.

Karthi, who is married to Ranjani, has two children-Umayal and Kandan. Also, Suriya's sister, Brinda graced the event which which hosted by Bigg Boss Tamil 5 winner Raju Jeyamohan and anchor Bhavana.

Suriya On His Wife Jyothika

Taking about his wife, actor Suriya called Jyothika is 'Kannadi Poo'. It has to be noted that there is a song with the same title in Retro.

About the song, he said: "There'll be numerous layers to the film - love, laughter and war, enjoy it. I love you all (fans and the audience). I'm here today because of you all. I'm here because of your love. And of course, I also thank my kannadi poo Jo. My journey wouldn't be as joyous without her."

Retro is an romantic action film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The movie has Pooja Hegde playing the female lead. Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, Uday Mahesh, Remya Suresh, and others are in the cast.

The Tamil movie is scheduled to hit the screens on May 1.
