‘Kantara Chapter 1’ Kerala Release: Full Details on Date, Advance Bookings, and First-Day Show

Rishab Shetty's much-anticipated film, 'Kantara Chapter 1', is set to hit theatres in Kerala on October 2, 2025. Malayalam actor and filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran is presenting the film in the region. Advance Bookings and Release Details

Fans in Kerala can start booking their tickets for 'Kantara Chapter 1' from September 28 at 12:30 pm. The overseas bookings for this epic drama, led by Rishab Shetty, have already commenced. The advance booking schedule for North India was released earlier, while regions like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu are expected to open their bookings by the weekend.

The film's first-day advance booking gross across India was impressive. According to Sacnilk website data, it recorded Rs 3.69 crore for Kannada 2D, Rs 75,000 for Telugu 2D, and Rs 3.27 lakh for Hindi 2D. This totals Rs 3.7 crore with over 96,000 tickets sold nationwide.

Challenges Before Release

The release of 'Kantara Chapter 1' in Kerala initially faced hurdles due to Prithviraj's demand for a higher theatrical share during the first two weeks. This went against standard norms for dubbed films and led to a standoff with the exhibitors' federation. However, these issues were eventually resolved.

The film features a strong cast led by Rishab Shetty himself as director and actor. Alongside him are Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram in significant roles. The inclusion of veteran actor Jayaram is particularly exciting for Malayali audiences; he might play an antagonist role.
