Who Was Aparna?
Aparna was a celebrated Indian actress, television presenter, and former radio jockey. She was a well-known figure in Kannada television, particularly for her work as a presenter on various shows that aired on DD Chandana during the 1990s. Aparna made her cinematic debut in 1984 with Puttanna Kanagal's last film, 'Masanada Hoovu.'

From 2015 to 2021, Aparna played the role of Varalakshmi on the sketch comedy show 'Majaa Talkies.' She also starred in popular television shows such as 'Moodala Mane' and 'Mukta.' In 2013, Aparna appeared as a contestant in the first season of the Kannada reality television show 'Bigg Boss,' which aired on ETV Kannada.
Since 2015, Aparna had been a regular on 'Majaa Talkies,' portraying Varalakshmi, the vain and boastful sister-in-law of Srujan Lokesh's character. Her character humorously claimed to be friends with celebrities like Barack Obama and Salman Khan.
In 2011, Aparna lent her voice to the recorded announcements of passenger boarding and deboarding for the Bengaluru Metro.
After a hiatus of more than 20 years from films, Aparna made a comeback with the 2024 release 'Grey Games.'
