On X, a netizen has posted a video with a caption - Best review for #Thuglife. In the video, a trio is seen on a bike and falling apparently into a canal while one person jumps off the bike to save himself at the last minute.
The netizen compares the person's great escape with a ban on Thug Life in Karnataka, indicating that Kannadigas are safe. For the unversed, the release of the movie was withheld in Karnataka by Kamal Haasan himself after pro-Kannadiga groups and the Karnataka High Court sought an apology to Kannadigas over the remark - 'Kannada born out of Tamil'.
Similarly, many people have trolled Kamal Haasan, claiming that he saved Kannadigas. One user said, "Undoubtedly #KamalHaasan Saved Many Karnataka audience From An Big Headache #ThugLife."

The fifth user stated, "After seeing the review of #ThugLife ppl in Karnataka thanking Kamal Hassan for his remark on Kannada instead of hate 😂🤣🤣 Saved our money and 2.5 hr of frustration in Cinema."
Some viewers feel that the controversy was created to get good publicity for the movie. One netizen accused, "So all this Tamil vs Kannada drama was to promote a garbage movie called #ThugLife."
Another user stated, "It's clear then the promotion stunt by using Kannada didn't went well to hype a low rated movie! If anyone thinks that they can win by showing others down, #ThugLife is example.. peirod."
