'Kalki 2898 AD' Day 1 Box Office Collection: Prabhas' Film Becomes 3rd Biggest Opener; Mints Rs 170 Crore

Prabhas' latest cinematic venture, 'Kalki 2898 AD,' has made a spectacular debut at the box office, showing strong signs of becoming the third-biggest Indian opener of all time. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the movie has garnered immense anticipation and buzz, which has translated into impressive box office numbers.

According to trade reports, 'Kalki 2898 AD' has earned Rs 170.6 crore on its first day worldwide. SS Rajamouli's 'RRR,' starring Ram Charan and Junior NTR, holds the top spot by earning Rs 220 crore on the opening day worldwide. His 'Baahubali 2' is in second place with Rs 214 crore.

In the domestic market, the film, which has big names in the cast such as Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone, is expected to rake in around Rs 107.6 crore on its first day. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are anticipated to contribute significantly, with an estimated Rs 59.3 crore coming from the two Telugu-speaking states alone.

In Kerala, the movie has earned over Rs 2.8 crore, while in Karnataka, it has collected Rs 11.5 crore. Tamil Nadu has added around Rs 6 crore to the film's coffers.

From North India, early trends suggest a collection of around Rs 28 crore.

Internationally, 'Kalki 2898 AD' has also performed exceptionally well. The movie has earned around Rs 40 crore from its premiere and first-day shows in the US. The overall first-day overseas collection is around Rs 63 crore.

With a global first-day box office collection around Rs 170.6 crore, 'Kalki 2898 AD' is off to a flying start. The film has received favourable reviews and positive word-of-mouth, increasing the likelihood of setting new benchmarks, particularly at the Andhra and Telangana box offices.
