'Kalki 2898 AD' 1st Week Box Office Collection: Distributors' Recover 86% Investment In Andhra, Nizam

Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's 'Kalki 2898 AD' has come out with flying colours at the Andhra and Telangana box office.

In the first week, the mega-budget movie is predicted to have earned around Rs 182 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The distributors' share stands at Rs 116 crore.

It has a superb run in Nizam doing Rs 94 crore Gross and Rs 56 crore distributors' share (excluding GST). The distributors have recovered 86 per cent of their investment in the first week itself.

Andhra/Telangana Pre Release Business
From the sale of theatrical rights of Andhra and Telangana, the makers of 'Kalki 2898 AD' raked in Rs 180 crore. This includes 70 crore in Nizam, 27 crores in Ceeded, 23 crores in Uttar Andhra, 15 crore in East Godavari, 11 crore in West Godavari, 13 crore each in Guntur and Krishna, and 8 crore in Nellore.

To break even, the film will need to gross over Rs 270 crore in these regions.

Meanwhile, the film has now surpassed the Rs 700 crore mark at the worldwide box office, reaching Rs 725 crore.

Vyjayanthi Movies, the producers of Kalki 2898 AD, announced the news of the movie achieving the new milestone on its social media page. Sharing a poster, they said, "The dream run continues...Witness the magic of #Kalki2898AD, now in theaters." The poster reads, "Rs 700 crores + GBOC worldwide." A press release also revealed that the film earned Rs 725 crore in its first seven days.

On the other hand, director Nag Ashwin praised Prabhas in a recent post, sharing an unseen picture of him on set. He mentioned that the actor often provided "intelligent inputs" that enhanced the film.

He then added, "This man sitting casually there is the reason for all this, unbiasedly the biggest box office star of this era... He gave our production the confidence to do what we did, he gave me the freedom to do what I did... and his numerous intelligent inputs helped guide the film to what it is... everyone's darling, our Bhairava, and now the world's K____."
