In an interview with Times Now, the actor was asked whether minorities in the country feel unsafe. Without hesitation, he expressed that he has never felt more secure in India, despite belonging to a minority himself.

Speaking about his background, John explained that his mother is a Zoroastrian and his father is a Syrian Christian, yet he has always felt safe in his country. He acknowledged that some might argue his experience is different because of his celebrity status, but he firmly stated that he has never faced any issues because of his background. He added that he deeply loves India and feels a strong sense of belonging, emphasizing that he carries the Indian identity with immense pride.

On the professional front, John's latest film, The Diplomat, was released on March 14. Directed by Shivam Nair, the thriller is based on the real-life story of Uzma Ahmed, an Indian woman who was forced into a marriage in Pakistan. John plays the role of Indian diplomat JP Singh, who plays a crucial part in her rescue.

The film opened to strong reviews, and its box office numbers look promising. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, it earned ₹4 crore on its first day. With the weekend ahead, the film's performance is expected to improve as more audiences head to the theatres.
