Jaat First Review Out: Sunny Deol's Film Delivers South-Style Action Masala Punch in This Massy Entertainer
Sunny Deol returns to the big screen with Jaat, releasing on April 10, and the first review is already making waves. Co-starring Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar Singh, Jaat has been described as a South-style action masala movie, complete with over-the-top action, fiery dialogues, and seeti-maar moments tailor-made for single-screen audiences.
Film critic Umair Sandhu, who caught the film at a censor screening abroad, called it a "paisa vasool entertainer" and praised Sunny Deol's larger-than-life presence. "Saw Jaat at Censor Board. Collaboration of South & North is PAISA VASOOL. Single Screen Cinema is Back with a Bang. Sunny Deol looking S-E-X-Y," he posted on social media.

One scene that's already going viral shows Deol using a ceiling fan to beat up goons-bringing back memories of his iconic hand pump moment from Gadar. The review also notes that while the story and screenplay are "strictly average," the film shines through its unapologetically massy appeal.
Another reviewer called it "almost like a South action masala movie... lots of abuses... run time: 153:31 mins," hinting at the film's raw, action-heavy vibe.
As anticipation grows, early trade estimates suggest that Jaat is poised for a strong opening. According to data from Sacnilk, the film has already notched up ₹30.68 lakh in advance bookings for Day 1, with total pre-release business - including block bookings - reaching ₹1.07 crore.
Releasing in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, Jaat aims to tap into a pan-India audience. With Sunny Deol basking in the success of Gadar 2, this mass entertainer also features Regina Cassandra and Saiyami Kher in key roles. The film Jaat has been jointly produced by Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar, TG Vishwa Prasad, and Umesh Kumar Bansal under the banners of Mythri Movie Makers, People Media Factory, and Zee Studios.
With a massive budget of around 100 crore rupees, the producers have not held back in ensuring the film meets the high expectations.
As "Jaat" gears up for its release, the film industry and audiences alike are buzzing with anticipation. The movie not only marks Sunny Deol's continued resurgence in Bollywood but also represents a significant venture for Gopichand Malineni as he steps into Hindi cinema. With its star-studded cast, substantial budget, and the promise of high entertainment value, "Jatt" is expected to make a significant impact at the box office. Whether it will break the records set by "Gadar 2" remains to be seen, but the excitement surrounding its release is undeniable.
