Is Leo Composer Anirudh Ravichander's 'Ordinary Person' Song Copied From Peaky Blinders' 'I’m No Outsider'?

'Leo,' a collaboration between Thalapathy Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, is enjoying tremendous success at the global box office. The film made headlines when it crossed the 400 crore rupee mark worldwide in just four days. However, the film's music composer Anirudh Ravichander has landed himself in a controversy.

On October 23, Anirudh released the song 'Ordinary Person' from the film on YouTube. However, the song was soon accused of being a copy of 'I'm not outsider' from the TV series 'Peaky Blinders'. Many listeners immediately recognised similarities between this song and 'I'm Not an Outsider' by Bulgarian artist Otnicka.

In response to the influx of messages, Otnicka took to Instagram to share his thoughts. He mentioned that the situation remains unclear, stating, "Guys, thanks for the hundreds of messages about the movie 'Leo.' I can see everything, but it's physically impossible to answer everyone. The mail is overflowing with messages, Instagram is flooded, and there are thousands of comments on YouTube under the video 'Where Are You.' The situation is very unclear. We are looking into this, and I will provide an assessment of everything that is happening a little later."

In his interactions with fans, Otnicka emphasized that he had no prior knowledge of his song being used in 'Leo.' He also noted, "The label does not own the copyright and cannot grant a license without the artist's knowledge. No one contacted me or my team."

Anirudh Ravichander is known to be a devoted fan of 'Peaky Blinders.' His supporters defended him by asserting that the 'Ordinary Person' track was inspired by 'Peaky Blinders' rather than copied from it.

Anirudh Ravichander has been on a roll with consecutive successful projects, including 'Jailer,' 'Jawan,' and 'Leo.' His exceptional musical contributions were highly acclaimed by both fans and critics.
