'If Known Hindi, I'd Have Had Opportunity To Rape Aishwarya Rai': Radha Ravi's Old Video Goes Viral

Amid the controversy surrounding Mansoor Ali Khan over his 'bed scene' comment, a shocking video of veteran actor Radha Ravi's rape joke has gone viral.

The clip has been shared by singer Chinmayi on her social media account where Radha Ravi is purportedly heard saying that he would have got the opportunity to rape Aishwarya Rai if he was working in the Hindi film industry.

"I have once said that if I had known Hindi, I would have had the opportunity to rape Aishwarya Rai. What I meant was I would have acted in Bollywood. Why the hell should I then act with these saniyans (idots/sinners in Tamil)," Ravi said.

Lashing out at his cringe-worth comment, Chinmayi said, "Here in this video in Tamil where you ll see people laughing as if it is such a huge joke. This man is an important office bearer in some Film Unions in Tamilnadu. "Hindi katthukittu irundha Aishwarya Rai a keduthurppen illa."

As per a report in India Today, the incident occurred at the promotional event of actor-director Samuthirakani's film when he was referring to North Indian women working in South films as heroines.

He said, "The number of shooting days will become less for you if you use theatre artists. But I don't know from where you find these heroines from the North. They don't come with their clothes on. I mean, they come in their attires."

It comes at a time when there is an outrage over Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan's controversial comments against Trisha.

In an interview, Khan had said that he had signed Vijay's 'Leo' believing that he would get "bedroom" scenes with Trisha, but the makers did not even show her on the sets. "When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me. But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule," ANI quoted him as saying.

Trisha has condemned his comments and vowed not to work with him anymore. She said, "A recent video has come to my notice where Mr.Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind."
