Jayam Ravi has broken silence over the link-up rumours with Bengaluru-based singer Kenishaa Francis, blamed for his separation with his wife Aarthi.

At the teaser launch of his upcoming movie 'Brother, Jayam Ravi shared his side of the story regarding the divorce controversy. He emphasized that efforts were being made to tarnish his hard-earned reputation, stating, "I won't allow my name and fame, built through years of hard work, to be damaged so easily." He also clarified that the divorce notice was sent only after discussions between both families, dismissing Aarthi's claims of being unaware of the proceedings.

"I spoke to her father through my lawyer before the notice was sent, and both our parents had already discussed the matter," Ravi explained. He also addressed speculations about his car being seen in another town during his son Aarav's birthday, asserting, "I can take my car wherever I want. It's a car I bought with my own hard-earned money."

Jayam Ravi further clarified his relationship with Kenishaa Francis, denying any romantic involvement. "I know her as a singer and psychologist who has helped many overcome depression. We were planning to open a spiritual center together," he revealed. He expressed confusion over the rumors, stating, "I don't know if people are spreading these rumors because they disapprove of the idea. I have all the evidence and am ready to present it in court. The truth will come out through the legal process."

On September 10, Jayam Ravi announced his separation from Aarti, officially ending their 15-year marriage. In a statement, he said, "Life is a journey filled with various chapters, each presenting its own opportunities and challenges. He had taken the difficult decision after much thought. He stated, "This decision was not made in haste and stems from personal reasons that I believe are in the best interests of everyone involved."

In a surprising twist following Jayam Ravi's divorce announcement, his wife Aarti has publicly declared that she does not consent to the separation.

She described Ravi's decision as "one-sided," leaving both her and their children "completely blindsided." Aarti explained, "For some time, I have sought several opportunities to speak directly with my husband, hoping to have an open dialogue in a manner that honors the commitment we made to one another and to our family. Sadly, that opportunity was not afforded to me, leaving both my children and me completely blindsided by this announcement. The decision to walk out of our marriage is purely one-sided and does not benefit our family."

Later, rumours surrounding his alleged affair with Kenishaa started doing rounds.

According to Tamil media reports, tensions in their marriage escalated after a series of incidents linked to Jayam Ravi's frequent trips to Goa. One such trip sparked a confrontation when a traffic violation involving his car, registered in his wife Aarti's name, led to a fine.

Matters intensified on June 24 when Aarti received an SMS alert about her car violating traffic rules. To her surprise, it was discovered that Kenishaa Francis had been driving the vehicle.
