"I thank Indian politics for giving us the fuel to make such films. Time has flown so fast," he said.

Kamal Haasan compared Shankar to the Hollywood greats such as Alfred Hitchcock and the other is Cecil B DeMille. "There are only two filmmakers who have created art in the same way. One is Alfred Hitchcock and the other is Cecil B DeMille. Now Shankar has done it," Shankar added.

Kamal also recalled Vivekh, Manobala and Nedumundi Venu, who passed away during the making of the film. The 'Ulaganayagan' added, "It feels like it was just yesterday that I shot a few scenes with Vivekh. Him along with Manobala, and Nedumudi Venu should have been here with us and to see its success."

Kamal praised Anirudh, saying that he should be seen as an example of someone who puts in their utmost effort. He further mentioned that even he himself cannot do so beyond a certain point, but Anirudh has exerted every possible effort to infuse life into the film through his music.

The press meet of the trailer launch was attended by Kamal Haasan, Shankar, Siddharth, Bobby Simha and many others.

Shankar stated that the film is envisioned with Indian 'thatha' in the present day. He mentioned that while the first part was primarily set in Tamil Nadu, they have expanded the geographical scope in the sequel.

"In the first film, they had only used prosthetics for approximately 20 days, whereas in the sequel, it extends to over 70 days. Shankar remarked on the dedication of the lead actor, mentioning that he is the last to leave the shooting spot every day. He added that viewers can expect to see more of Kamal as an actor in the sequel," Shankar said.

Music director Anirudh said that he feels surreal to watch the trailer on big screen. "I can see the hard work that everyone has put together in this film and it will definitely show when you see it in theatres. Indian 2 will definitely create a mark," he added.
