I Don’t Know The Woman: Actor Nivin Pauly Responds To Sexual Assault Accusations, Calls It A Conspiracy
Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly made headlines on September 3 after being named the sixth accused in a sexual assault complaint filed by a woman. Hours later, he held a press conference, calling the accusations a conspiracy and insisting that he did not know the complainant. Nivin vowed to fight the case legally, describing the complaint as false.

During the press conference, Nivin said, "An FIR has been registered against me. I will fight it legally. I am willing to go to any lengths to prove my innocence as such fake allegations can be made against anyone. I am speaking for all of them. If I don't, such incidents will continue to happen."
Nivin also revealed that he had received a call from a police officer one and a half months ago regarding a similar complaint. He explained, "The circle inspector read out the FIR to me over the phone. I told him that I did not know her. At that time, it was termed a fake case. I asked the inspector if I should file a counter complaint, but he advised me not to waste my time. I have not yet read the new FIR."
Calling the case a conspiracy, Nivin reiterated that he did not know or speak to the woman. He acknowledged knowing one of the individuals named in the FIR. According to the complaint, the incident allegedly took place in Dubai in November 2023.
The 'Thuramukham' actor mentioned meeting a film producer at a Dubai mall, who introduced him to another man named in the FIR. This individual was supposed to fund half of a film project. Nivin said, "I wondered if it was someone who came for the audition back then. I called up the director to check, and he confirmed that the audition did not take place. I don't know if she took a selfie with me because lots of people do."
The case against Nivin Pauly and five others is registered in Kerala's Ernakulam. The complaint lists Sreya as the first accused, followed by producer AK Sunil, Binu, Basheer, Kuttan, and Nivin Pauly as the sixth accused.
These allegations against Nivin Pauly have sent shockwaves through the film industry, especially in the wake of the Hema Committee report released on August 19, which exposed widespread sexual harassment, casting couch practices, and lobbying in the Malayalam film industry. Following the report, numerous women have come forward with their own stories, accusing several prominent actors and filmmakers, including Jayasurya, Siddique, Baburaj, Idavela Babu, and directors Ranjith and Thulasidas, of sexual misconduct.
