Humaira Asghar’s Instagram Post Goes Viral, As No One Checked on Pakistani Actress for 9 Months
Pakistani actress and reality TV star Humaira Asghar's last Instagram post has gone viral after her body was found in a decomposed state inside her apartment in Karachi's Defence Housing Authority (DHA). Police say the 32-year-old may have died six to nine months ago, based on a medical examination.
The haunting irony lies in her final Instagram post, dated September 30, 2024, where she captioned her vibrant photo in an orange salwar, "Classic can hardly ever go out of style!!" Unbeknownst to her followers at the time, that would become her digital farewell.

What Happened to Humaira Asghar? How Her Body Was Found
Officers from Gizri Police Station reached her apartment at around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday to enforce a court-ordered eviction, prompted by unpaid rent since late 2024. She had not paid rent since late 2024, which led the landlord to seek legal action.
When no one answered the door, police broke in-and found her body, already in an advanced stage of decomposition. Her remains were sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed confirmed that the death likely occurred several months ago, possibly in September or October 2024.
Dr. Summaiya Syed, who led the post-mortem examination, revealed that the decomposition of Humaira Asghar's body was so severe that visual identification was no longer possible. DNA testing was necessary to establish her identity before the remains were released to her family. Investigators examining her phone records found that the last outgoing call from her number occurred in October 2024-corroborating her final appearance on social media in late September. Neighbours also confirmed they hadn't seen her in or around the residence since that timeframe, reinforcing the timeline of her presumed death.
An Online Outpouring of Grief
As news broke, Humaira's last Instagram post became a digital shrine. With thousands of comments flooding in, fans expressed sorrow, guilt, and spiritual prayers. One comment read:
"Her Instagram post was 6 months old, just like her last seen. Not a single soul checked on her... In what society are we living in? Allah-o-Akbar!"
Others offered prayers and charity on her behalf,"Please recite Surah Al-Fatiha for her. Give sadaqah tomorrow, even if it's just ten rupees. It's the least we can do."
A Chilling Detail That Sparked Debate
An interesting observation from the post that caught many off-guard was the absence of any posts beyond 2024, despite fans previously believing she was active into 2025. This inconsistency sparked speculations of foul play, with some users questioning whether her death occurred earlier than assumed.
"No rent paid since October. No replies to landlord. No visits. No family? No friends? Such a tragic end..." one comment noted.
Who Was Humaira Asghar?
Born in Lahore, Humaira Asghar was a trained artist from the National College of Arts (NCA) and PUCAD. She began her career in modelling in 2013, before transitioning to television with roles in Laali, Benaam, Chal Dil Mere, and Sirat‑e‑Mustaqeem. Her film debut came in 2015 with Jalaibee, and she was last seen on screen in the 2021 film Love Vaccine.
She gained national recognition after appearing on Tamasha Ghar, a Bigg Boss-style reality show on ARY Digital, in 2022. Her last known television project was Esaan Faramosh.
Her Achievements
In 2023, Humaira was awarded the National Woman Leadership Award for Best Emerging Talent & Rising Star. In an Instagram post accepting the honour, she wrote:
"This award means so much to me, not just as an individual, as a qualified artist, actress, but as a symbol of what women can achieve... With the realisation of their true potential, authenticity and unstoppable energy will be unlocked to make Pakistan shine nationally and internationally always."
Humaira Asghar's tragic death has raised difficult questions about urban isolation, mental health, and the silent struggles of public figures. That her body went undiscovered for months in a densely populated city is both heartbreaking and deeply unsettling.
Her last Instagram post now stands as a chilling reminder of her loneliness-but also a lasting symbol of her elegance and passion for life.
