How Prakash Raj Silenced Journalist Who Asked About Darshan's Arrest In Renuka Swamy Murder Case

Veteran actor Prakash Raj, a known critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, silenced an enthusiastic journalist in style after the latter asked a question about Sandalwood superstar Darshan, arrested in connection with the murder case of Renuka Swamy.

At the press conference of his upcoming Kannada movie 'Father', the said journalist tried to veer the topic to Darshan's arrest by linking the content of the movie to Renuka Swamy's murder case.

Prakash Raj On Darshan Case

In his usual style, Prakash Raj ended the topic with his witty answer. "Everybody has been talking about the incident for one and a half months now. Let's change the topic slightly. Shouldn't we discuss Sooraj Revanna, Prajwal Revanna, and BS Yediyurappa?"

Raj was referring to former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna and his younger brother Sooraj Revanna, who have been arrested in a rape case, and former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa, who faces allegations of sexual assault against a minor.

Continuing his response, Raj said, "Let's talk about the NEET exams, the wages of Anganwadi workers, mid-day meal workers' salaries, or the plight of auto drivers affected by bike taxis." His remarks not only silenced the journalist but also resonated with netizens.

Director R Chandru and Darling Krishna was also present at the press meet held in Bengaluru.

Challenging Star Darshan, his close friend Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others were arrested on June 11 in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy and were subsequently sent to judicial custody on June 22. On July 4, a Bengaluru court extended their custody until July 18.

The case involves allegations that Renuka Swamy had sent inappropriate messages to Pavithra Gowda. In retaliation, Darshan's associates allegedly kidnapped Renuka Swamy from Chitradurga and confined him in a shed in Kamakshi Palya, where he was fatally assaulted.
