Honey Singh And Karan Aujla Get Notices From Punjab Women Commission
Punjabi music stars Yo Yo Honey Singh and Karan Aujla are under fire after the Punjab State Women's Commission took suo motu cognisance of allegedly objectionable lyrics in their recent songs. The Commission has issued notices to both singers, summoning them to appear in person on August 11, 2025, to explain their stand.
Honey Singh Faces Fresh Controversy Over 'Millionaire'
After making a comeback in 2024 with his album Glory, Honey Singh is once again in the spotlight - this time for the wrong reasons. His song Millionaire, featured in the 18-track album, has been criticised for using language that allegedly disrespects women. The Punjab Women's Commission has asked Singh, along with a senior Punjab Police officer, to appear before it at 11:30 AM on August 11.

The album Glory, presented by T-Series, marked Singh's return to the music scene and includes other popular tracks like Bonita, Jatt Mehkma, Payal, and High On Me.
Karan Aujla's 'MF Gabhru' Under Scrutiny
Karan Aujla too finds himself in the midst of controversy following the release of his latest track MF Gabhru, which dropped on August 1, 2025. Written, composed, and performed by Aujla, with music by Ikky, the song has already clocked over 30 lakh views on YouTube. However, its lyrics have triggered backlash for allegedly using derogatory terms for women.
Taking serious note of the content, the Commission has asked the Punjab DGP to appoint a senior officer to investigate both cases and determine whether legal action is warranted.
Artists to Face Panel
Both singers are now required to respond before the Commission and clarify their intent and role in the production of the controversial songs. The move is part of a broader push by the Commission to hold public figures accountable for content that may promote misogyny or disrespect women.
