HIT: The Third Case Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Nani's Film; Find Out From Viewers' Words
Nani is back with his latest movie HIT: The Third Case, directed by Sailesh Kolanu. The movie has Srinidhi Shetty of KGF fame playing the female lead.
It is a third instalment in the HIT Universe. Suriya Srinivas, Adi Pala, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji and others are in the cast. Prashanti Tipirneni-produced film has Mickey J. Meyer's music, Karthika Srinivas' editing and Sanu John Varghese's cinematography.

Hit 3 Story
Arjun Sarkaar (Nani), a hardened, almost unhinged cop, finds himself entangled in a series of eerily similar murders occurring across different locations. But this time, Arjun has a dark secret of his own - he has committed a murder himself. What connects these crimes? Will Arjun crack the case, or is he already too deep in the mess? These questions form the core of a story that juggles mystery, trauma, and brutality in equal measure.
Hit 3 Movie Review
With HIT: The Third Case, Nani plunges headfirst into a darker, grittier zone than we've seen him in before. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, this third installment in the HIT Universe tries to fuse crime investigation with intense psychological trauma - but while there are standout moments, it doesn't quite reach the highs it aims for.
This is Nani in raw form - angry, foul-mouthed, bloodied, and absolutely committed. He commands the screen with a cold intensity that anchors the film throughout. His dialogues are sharp, his body language menacing, and his emotional arc layered with rage and regret. This is not your family-friendly Nani; he warned us, and he meant it.
The film takes its time getting started. The first half is fairly generic - standard investigative beats, sluggish pacing, and a tone that doesn't quite grip. It's only around the pre-interval sequence that the tension begins to tighten.
The second half, however, goes all in. There's a surprising Squid Game-style survival setup that breathes new life into the narrative. The violence is dialed up to 11, and the pre-climax to climax stretch delivers some high-octane cinematic moments. Unfortunately, even in its better moments, the writing often leans on formulaic storytelling, rarely surprising the audience with genuine twists.
Technical Merits
Visually, the film is a stunner. Sanu John Varghese's cinematography is gritty, stylish, and moody, perfectly complementing the story's brutal tone. The production values are top-notch - the HIT Universe looks polished and expansive. However, Mickey J. Meyer's music fails to leave a mark. The background score doesn't quite match the mood, and the songs feel like speed bumps in an otherwise tense narrative.
HIT: The Third Case is a brutal, often compelling thriller that banks heavily on Nani's fierce performance and a few stylishly executed sequences. But predictable writing and uneven pacing hold it back from becoming a truly gripping addition to the HIT Universe.
It's not a film for the faint-hearted - the violence is intense, and the language is unfiltered. But for those who enjoy their crime thrillers dark, loud, and bloody, this one might just do the trick.
What Audience Say About Nani-Starrer? Find Out
Venky Reviews: #Hit3 is a very violent action crime thriller that has moments that work well but at the same time portions that are too run of the mill and narrated on the slower side.
The first half is pretty average and predictable till the pre-interval which starts to engage. The second half has a set up inspired squid game. These portions have cinematic moments that work well especially the pre-climax to climax portions. However, again the writing is too predictable here offering less twists and relying more on mass moments. Production values and cinematography stand out. Music is ineffective and all the songs are speed breakers.
Nani is superb in this one and holds the film together with his performance. When Nani said that this is not for kids and families, he truly meant. A very violent film filled with bloodshed and cuss words which is new from a star.
Doesn't reach the full expectations, but Nani and some cinematic moments make it an alright watch.
Rating: 2.5-2.75/5
#Hit3 Average 1st Half!
Typical run of the mill crime thriller so far with more violence and bolder dialogues. Proceedings get interesting towards the interval but move in a fairly slow manner. Nanis performance/characterization and one liners are holding this together so far.
Bhargav Chintala:#Hit3 @NameisNani pulls it brilliantly in the First Half.
@SrinidhiShetty7 gets minimal role but looks beautiful. There are some good laughs which is a plus.
@KolanuSailesh impresses with gripping screenplay at times but took lot of time to get main plot.
#Hit3 First Half Report: Story starts off slow and gets interesting towards pre-interval making it curious for audience how the second half is going to be.
@NameisNani was good in dialogue delivery, mannerism and shows us why he is called Natural Star
AndInMyOpinion: The movie goes super fast, with action and reaction, even in dialogues. Procedural scenes thrive on silences, but sadly misses those which is again a missed opportunity.
Nani tries to come out of his cute image, and in a way, his diction, using slang words, suits him and reminds him of a real person, which is his specialty anyway. However, lack of depth, and not exploring the grey side of him much will be my major complaints.
There is a clear scope for innovating and breaking the norms in various places, but these were simply ignored and they went for a classic, templated screenplay.
The logical plot holes will be evident if the script isn't tightly bound. This is easily observable in multiple places throughout the movie, whether it's in the procedural scenes or the setup, and especially in the Arunachal Pradesh shabang.
Hit 3 does many things right, especially in careful detailing of very minute things. However, I'm not sure why or whose decision it was to back these ideas of templated tropes.
As a result, it will remain a mediocre for me.
Let's discuss without spoilers.

PushpaBhav: #HIT3 worked in parts but expected more. Nani carries a story that never really pulls you in or has an emotional connection. Villan character & acting is bad. The bloody stylish action leaves great impact. Direction & writing needed to be sharper for a thriller. Just a decent one
Pithapuram Pailwan: 1st half pacing superb undi. Nani comedy timing god level anukovachu. Interval scene asalu logical ga ledu. Intrigue factor aithe undi. Connect chesthe hittu lekapothe chudali. Dark Web plot point is nothing new. Above average 1st half. #HIT3
I Love Cinema: First Half Report: HIT 3
#HIT3 kicks off impressively as Sailesh Kolanu delivers a sharp, contemporary crime thriller with a unique narrative style. #Nani stands out as Arjun Sarkar, offering one of his most impactful performances to date. The bold, straightforward dialogues and minimalistic approach strike a strong chord with the audience.
Dheeraj: #HIT3 easily the worst movie in the franchise. Nani's Arjun Sarkaar, chasing serial killers, devolves into a caricature in a brainless, gore-heavy action slog. The thin plot and predictable twists fail to engage, while the 2.5-hour runtime feels endless.
