Get-Set Baby Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Unni Mukundan's Film; Find Out

Unni Mukundan is back with his latest movie Get-Set Baby, a comedy drama directed by Vinay Govind. The movie has Nikhila Vimal in the female lead.

Chemban Vinod Jose, Shyam Mohan, Surabhi Lakshmi, Johny Antony, Sudheesh, Dinesh Prabhakar, Meera Vasudevan, Bhagath Manuel, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Fara Shibla, Punya Elizabeth and Jewel Mary are part of the cast. The Malayalam film has Sam CS' music, Alex J. Pulickal's cinematography and Arju Benn's editing.

The story follows Dr. Arjun Balakrishnan (played by Unni), a male gynaecologist who climbs the professional ladder to become a renowned IVF specialist and owner of a women's wellness center. Initially kind-hearted, Arjun's obsession with success and reputation transforms him into an egotistical workaholic. His life takes a dramatic turn when he and his wife, Swathy (Nikhila), struggle to conceive a child- a situation that threatens his professional image. What follows next forms the crux of the story.

Talking about the movie, the director, in an interview, said, "I wouldn't call Get Set Baby a romcom specifically. It begins with a romcom set-up before evolving into a family drama with different shades of emotions. It's a breezy entertainer. It doesn't have too many laugh-out-loud comedies. We are dealing with a sensitive, emotional topic revolving around pregnancy in the film and so, it's a thin line. We have tried to accommodate the humour we can, and the story progresses in a light-hearted way."
